포스텍 전자전기공학과 석사과정 허원형 씨 (논문지도: 홍원빈 교수)가 ’2024 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting (IEEE AP-S/URSI)＇에서 “Implementation and Applications of Antenna Utilizing Hinge of Foldable Mobile device＂이란 주제로 Student Paper Competition에서 “Honorable Mention”을 수상하였다.

본 논문은 Foldable device 의 Hinge 부를 안테나로 구현하여 Antenna on Display 와 Simultaneous Radiation 방식을 통해 Folding/Unfolding 조건에서의 안테나 성능 향상을 제안하였으며 이를 실험을 통해 검증하였다. 본 연구는 전 세계 학계에 발표된 연구 결과 대비 혁신적인 아이디어와 우수한 성능을 보임이 높이 평가되어 “Honorable Mention”에 선정되었다.

2024 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting (IEEE AP-S/URSI)는 IEEE 전파 분야 (IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society)의 세계 최대 규모의 국제 학술대회로 올해는 이탈리아 피렌체에서 개최된다. 이번 APS/URSI 2024 Student Paper Competition 에서는 총 314편의 논문이 기고 되었고 그 중 “Honorable Mention” 을 수상하는 성과를 거뒀다.
